AI, Cognition, and Data-Driven Innovation

About Me

Magnus Johnsson

I’m Professor of Computer Science at Kristianstad University in Sweden, holding a PhD in cognitive science and specializing in data science, artificial intelligence, and self-organizing systems. Leading the Research Environment for Computer Science (RECS), I explore applications of AI and Hybrid Intelligence in various areas, for example in financial speculation, risk management, medical diagnostics and education. Through my company, I’m embarking on an investment journey, applying my expertise to identify promising AI and sustainable tech startups with bold, adaptable visions.

Guided by a philosophy of natural flow, I foster organic synergies between science, finance, and creativity. Outside academia, I’m an adventurous outdoorsman, chess player, and cultural enthusiast, drawing inspiration from nature, art, philosophy and geopolitics. My multifaceted life reflects a commitment to curiosity and impact.

Curiosity fuels my research, humility shapes my collaborations, and strategic thinking guides my investments. I strive to create value by connecting ideas with respect for people and nature.
